Stephanie Krueger (Independent Consultant, Fornobia Consulting)

Dr. Krueger has been involved in the creation and development of innovative digital resources since 1999, including JSTOR, DRAM (Database of Recorded American Music) and Artstor (images and other image-based materials). She also administered grant projects for the Mellon Foundation (Eastern Europe and South Africa), Ford Foundation (South Asia), and the John D, and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation (Russian Federation).
Together with Sasha Skenderija, Krueger established the “Fornobia” independent consulting team in 2011 in New York City (U.S.). In early 2013, she was invited to the Czech National Library of Technology (NTK) to take charge of designing, introducing, and managing the Library’s academic services and improving its user-oriented strategy.
Krueger developed, together with two professors at Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), key courses for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers from STEM disciplines, including a credit-bearing course on Scientific Writing in English for doctoral students (accredited by both CTU and Charles University). She works with early career researchers on a daily basis.
Krueger serves on several prestigious library management bodies including the IFLA Document Delivery and Resources Sharing (DDRS) committee and the journal Evidence Based Library and Information Practice published by the University of Alberta, Canada. In 2019, Krueger resumed her senior independent consulting role within the original Fornobia Consulting team, working with libraries, university research groups, and other academic teams.

Sasha Skenderija  (Independent Consultant, Fornobia Consulting)

Dr. Sasha Skenderija has been engaged into information services development and new media education since mid-nineties. He was the initiator of the New Media Studies at the Charles University in Prague and the principal co-author of INVIK STK, the cutting-edge electronic document delivery system provided by the National (formerly State) Library of Technology that has been the major Czech resource sharing platform for over two decades (VPK). In 1999, two years after earning his PhD degree in information science at the Institute of Inf. Science and Librarianship, Charles University, he moved to Cornell University Law School Library (Ithaca, NY) where he was one of the leaders in implementation of the new network technologies into legal research and teaching for 12 years. During these years, Skenderija was actively involved in teaching at the Charles University New Media Program back in Prague. He was a senior consultant in the planning process of the new National Library of Technology (opened in 2009) both as a Fulbright Senior Specialist and a State Department Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs International Speaker.
Together with Stephanie Krueger, Skenderija established an independent consulting team “Fornobia” in 2011 in NYC. In early 2013, they were invited to the National Library of Technology in Prague (NTK) to take charge of designing, introducing and managing the Library’s academic services and user oriented strategy. Sasha was consequentially acting as the NTK deputy director for strategic development, the head of the user support division and the acting head the technical services division managing at the end of 2018 circa 100 colleagues. Sasha and Stephanie played the key role in envisioning and launching fully bilingual world-class services in Czech and English, online and in-person for everyone from secondary schools to researchers as well as in streamlining internal processes and introducing staff development training and review processes.
In 2019 Sasha Skenderija resumed his senior independent consulting role within original Fornobia Consulting team.
