The Bibliography Department has two sections:

• scientific and regional bibliography section
  • regional study room (focused on fields of study in east Slovakia)
  • E. Guttek study room (tourist literature from private collection)
• retrospective bibliography section
  • retrospective bibliography study room (all scientific fields, mainly 1848-1918 years)

Services

• search and information services from classic sources (the library fund, card catalogs, bibliographies, yearbooks) and from bibliographic databases
• access to documents
• access to Hungarian biographical archive on mikrofišiach (v maď. jazyku)
• sells bibliographies and summaries from its own editions

Bibliographical databases

• What are bibliographical databases ?
  Informations from various branches of human activity obtained from Slovak and foreign periodicals and almanacs from our funds. They are built since 1994.
• What informations do they contain ?
  Who, when and where wrote about given topic.
• How to search them ?
  By: title, author, subject, ISSN, ISBN, system number
• What is the format of data?
  Full bibliographical description is in UNIMARC format. You can save the records and send them through e-mail. Use UNICODE - UTF8 encoding when reading them.

  • You can use our bibliographical databases for information and search services at Information and Database Center, Hlavná 10. Slovak National Bibliography is of importance and our library cooperates in building of it.
